Nightmare on Bramble Street

A screenplay

n a road in a run down district of a City, probably not unlike the one you live in, lies a house. There is a nightmare, Nightmare on Bramble Street.

In the hallway stands Amanda. (ED Hey hey now. You can't do that. Amanda is a registered trademark of PG Products.)(I can you know. But if it offends you that much, I'll, .. I'll have her killed off by some maniacal gunman in, .. in Coventry. So there!)

In the hallway stands Michelle. (See. I bet you don't know anyone called that?!)(ED Well actually, there was that girl in Whitechapel..)

In the hallway stands Michelle. (Blond, blue eyed, you know the type)(ED Actually she was a brunette as far as I remember..)

(Anyway) She was scarred. (ED Maybe that should be scared)

(OK OK) The lights are dim, and she is alone in the house. The rooms are empty, and the walls are bare. She is not meant to be there. The house has been shut up for the past twenty years, ever since Timmy Kruger and his band of perverts had occupied it. Michelle is very scared.

Suddenly behind her, she hears a noise. She hopes it might be Brad (ED And I suppose "Michelle" is "M I C H E L L E" pronounced "JAN-NET")(Never.)

"Brad, BRAD", she calls. Her angelic voice drifting (ED onto a magnetic tape, through an echo chamber and back onto the soundtrack)(Grr!) up the stairs behind her. (At this point the scene fades to that of a Victorian child skipping and chanting a rhyme. This bit of the film is played in slow motion. Suddenly, a bug eyed alien dressed in NAZI black, strolls in and gives her two clips of 9 millimetre automatic )(ED She, not knowing what they are says "Thank you, but Mother told me not to accept gifts from strangers." and gives them back to him.)( and she drops gurgling in a pool of blood. The scene now switches back to Michelle).

(ED Who is this Michelle anyway?)(Oh, just somebody I dreamed up. Don't worry, she's a throwaway character.) Timmy Kruger advances down the stairs. In front of him, he waves his taloned hands. Michelle screams (ED "Oh no, I've forgotten my lines"). She runs to the front door, but it is bolted from the outside (ED doors don't have bolts on the outside, silly).

(OK OK) She runs to the front door but it is boarded up from the outside. She had entered through a window around the back but Timmy was blocking her exit now.

"Now I have you, my beauty...", Timmy croons. "Gasp", she gasps. (ED "YAWN")

He lashes out with his hand and draws beads of blood on her perfect complexion. His second swipe cuts her in two. (Scenes of gratuitous blood and guts here.

The scene now changes to that of the bedroom of Michelle's best friend, Lisa)(ED And who's this?)(? - your guess is as good as mine at this point. Now let me think..)

Lisa wakes up in bed and sits up. (She is short plump with curly brown hair.) She realises something is wrong but does not know what it is. She looks around the room and steps out of bed. (ED Naked?!)(No, of course not. Well not yet anyway.) She creeps out of the room and down the stairs. Halfway down she glances out of a landing window and sees a dim glow inside The House. Suddenly remembering that she had bet Michelle five pounds that she wouldn't spend a night there, Lisa feels guilty. However she decides to go over there.

Entering the House, she sees the body of her best friend lying in a pool of blood. At first she is shocked, then outraged, and finally merely bemused.

"Ha, look at you now, Missssss "Oh aren't I the best looking gal in the West?"!" she bitches and gives the body a kick.

From behind her comes Timmy Kruger. As he lunges for her, he slips on a pool of Michelle's blood and sprawls across the floor. Lisa turns towards him, her startled look turning to smugness.

She says "Oh so you're the Sicko-Surrealist-Sadistic-Fascist who takes a delight in slicing up young girls."

Timmy is still too dazed to reply.

"Well, would you like to see a gooood time?", she drools, and exhibiting very suggestive body language she climbs the stairs.

Chucking away his hat and his talons, Timmy exclaims "Oh why not. There's nothing else happening tonight." And he follows her up.

(ED Hey hey hey. You can not be serious. Timmy Kruger is meant to be banished once again by the forces of good. This is just not in the script.)(It is you know. I'm writing the script and its in, so Nar nar na nar nar!!)
