RIPPER ARRESTED ?

Police have arrested one Dr Joshua Ostrog in the ripper murder case. Ostrog, a Russian immigrant is believed to have homicidal tendencies and a pathological hatred of women. He has a practice in Bethnal Green, not too far from Whitechapel. This arrest has wrecked the common theory that the murders were carried out by the "High Rip" gang, who are trying to blackmail prostitutes or inflict their vengeance on those who refuse to pay !

ALL QUIET ON MARS

Small skirmishes are reported all along the Oenotrian border. British forces are holding their ground against overwhelming hordes of Oenotrian soldiers. It is the Royal Navy who are pinning the enemy down in the deserts and so reducing their ability to wage war.

METEOR LANDS IN TRANSYLVANIA

Two hundred miles south of Sibly, in the Transylvanian Alps a large meteor landed yesterday causing great damage and loss of life.

Scientists are rushing to the scene to investigate rumours of a space plague.

ICE COMPANY STARTS OPERATIONS ON MARS

The Poladaar Ice Company has been formed to exploit the huge reserves of ice locked up in the Martian polar ice cap. The ice will fetch large prices in the dry south land of Mars. New British machinery is making the mining simpler and cheaper than traditional methods.

POLISH CHAIRMAN SUPPORTS E.N.W.P.

In a shock U turn on policy and common sense, Jacob Jaraseltzin has publicly declared his support for the nationalists. He has stated that Dr Shades policies and ideas are correct and he calls for foreigners to leave Britain.

Polish sources in the Polish Vigilance Committee have said that Mr Jaraseltzin has been 'got at' by their enemies.

WIDER RIFTS IN THE CHURCH

Bishop Callenger has resigned from the C of E to become a Methodist. The bishop said that the Methodists were the only church forward looking enough to survive into the new century. Many of the bishop's supporters have also left, seriously weakening the church.

Bishop Bray of Durham has preached for the burning of Catholics and non conformists if they do not repent and join the C of E. The church has been experiencing severe internal problems lately.

SHARE CHAOS

Millions of pounds have been dropped from the value of shares following hysterical panic selling. This was caused by rumours of fraud and blackmail in the London Stock Exchange. Lord Hurley, the chairman of the market, who started the rumours has been sacked and placed in Camberley Asylum.

NEW SPECIMENS AT KEW

Venusian plants have been successfully transplanted from their natural bogs to a specially built greenhouse at Kew.
